Production and delivery

Depending on the print run and requirements, we produce your posters using digital or offset printing. This allows us to produce small and medium quantities flexibly and quickly, while also producing larger print runs economically and with consistently high quality.

To help you schedule your campaign with confidence, our delivery times are as follows:

Digital printing: approx. 5 working days
Offset printing: approx. 10 working days

The exact delivery time depends on the print run, format, data approval and processing. If you are in a particular hurry, we will be pleased to check whether faster production is possible.

High-quality materials

For classic posters, we print on Chantaffiche 115 g/m², a single-sided coated blueback paper that has been specially developed for poster advertising. The blue backing reduces the show-through of old motifs and improves legibility, especially when posters are pasted over. The material is robust and proven for short- to medium-term outdoor use.

For illuminated posters, we use a 150 g/m² material coated on both sides. It is specially designed to achieve a strong colour effect and high visibility in illuminated poster boxes, for example in underpasses or railway stations.

Print quality, colour effect and legibility

A poster must be effective at first glance. That’s why we pay attention to strong colour effects, clear contrasts and clean typography. To ensure that your motif looks its best on the surface, we check your data for technical plausibility, for example in terms of resolution, cropping and colour space. If necessary, we will assist you with adjustments so that the result looks just as impressive in print as it does on screen.

Questions about posters

What is a poster and what is it used for?

A poster is a single-sided advertising medium designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Businesses use posters to communicate messages quickly and clearly, for example for events, promotions, new openings, property, the hospitality industry or long-term brand visibility. When displayed at official poster sites, on walls or on advertising columns in public spaces, they achieve a wide reach.

What poster sizes do you offer?

We produce posters in the following standard formats: A2 (420 x 594 mm), A1 (594 x 841 mm), F4/World Format (895 x 1280 mm), F12 and F12 illuminated poster (2685 x 1280 mm), F200 and F200 illuminated poster (1165 x 1700 mm), F24 (2685 x 2550 mm) and Panneaux (640 x 900 mm). Custom formats are available on request.

Can posters be produced in non-standard sizes?

Yes, in addition to standard formats, we also produce posters in custom sizes. These can be discussed directly with our team and tailored to your specific requirements.

What is the standard size for posters?

The Weltformat (also known as F4) is a common poster format in Switzerland, measuring 895 x 1280 mm. It is frequently used for outdoor advertising on billboards and advertising columns and is regarded as the standard format for street advertising.

What is the difference between indoor and outdoor posters?

Indoor posters are produced on lighter, coated paper and are designed for dry, weather-protected environments, such as display cases, shopping centres or indoor spaces. We print outdoor posters on sturdy blue-backed paper, which has been specially developed for outdoor display. Illuminated posters for backlit display cases use a dedicated, double-sided coated material.

How long does it take to produce posters?

Delivery times depend on the printing method: for digital printing, they are approximately 5 working days; for offset printing, approximately 10 working days after the print proof has been approved. The exact duration depends on the print run, format, data approval and finishing. If you require a rush order, we will be happy to check whether a faster turnaround is possible.

How much does it cost to have posters printed?

The costs depend on the format, print run and printing method. Please let us know the format, print run and delivery date, and we will provide you with a personalised, no-obligation quote.

What is the minimum print run for ordering posters?

We produce posters in both small and large print runs. Whether it’s a small run using digital printing or a large run using offset printing, we select the printing method based on your quantity and requirements. For specific quantities and prices, we recommend submitting a direct enquiry.

Digital printing or offset printing – what’s the difference when it comes to posters?

Digital printing allows small and medium-sized print runs to be produced quickly and flexibly, making it ideal for short-notice campaigns or test runs. Offset printing is suitable for larger print runs and offers consistently high quality at a competitive price. We select the most appropriate process based on your print run and requirements.

What material are posters printed on?

For traditional poster displays, we print on Chantaffiche 115 g/m², a single-sided coated blue-backed paper specially developed for display purposes. The blue backing prevents older designs from showing through when new posters are stuck over them. For illuminated posters, such as those in underpasses or stations, we use a 150 g/m² material coated on both sides, which is designed to produce a strong colour effect in light boxes.

What are the requirements for my print files?

The print data requirements are available to download in the document «Technical Guidelines for Data Delivery». We will check your print data for technical accuracy, particularly with regard to resolution, bleed and colour space. If necessary, we will proactively contact you with specific instructions for adjustments so that your posters can go into production without delay.

What resolution should my print files be?

For optimum print quality, your print files should ideally be 300 dpi, but at least 150 dpi at the final size. You can download the detailed requirements from our document «Technical Guidelines for Data Delivery». We check every file and will contact you with any comments if necessary.

In what file format should I submit my print files?

We recommend submitting your files as PDFs in the CMYK colour space, with embedded fonts and a bleed of at least 3 to 5 mm. Files in the RGB colour space may result in colour discrepancies when printed. We will check your files for colour space, resolution and bleed, and prepare them for printing if necessary.

Could you also design my poster?

Yes. Our pre-press department supports you from the creative design stage right through to the final, print-ready product. Our specialists oversee data preparation, assist with the creative implementation and ensure a smooth workflow from the initial idea right through to final approval. Creative work is charged on a time-and-materials basis and will be invoiced as an additional cost. Please feel free to contact us directly with your specific design enquiry.

Do you deliver posters directly to the poster provider?

Yes. Once production is complete, we handle the finishing and deliver your finished posters on time. If you wish, we can arrange for delivery directly to your poster provider’s address.

How can I request a quote for posters?

To receive a no-obligation quote, simply let us know the format, print run and your preferred delivery date. We will then draw up a suitable quote for you. You can reach us via the contact form, by telephone on +41 848 400 200 or by email.

How do you help with the preparation of a poster campaign?

We check your files for resolution, bleed and colour space, prepare them for printing and coordinate delivery – directly to your billboard provider, if required. Simply let us know the format, print run and delivery date, and we will provide you with a bespoke quote.

Do you offer any other print-products?

Yes. In addition to posters, our range includes brochures and annual reports, leaflets and folders, mailings, magazines, maps, as well as business stationery such as business cards, envelopes and quotation folders.
